WHEN: Saturday, May 17, 2025, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT
OPEN TO: All amateur radio operators who can contact Arlington County, Virginia stations by simplex 2-meter FM phone.
OBJECTIVE: To make five or more 2-meter simplex QSOs with Arlington County stations. At least one station in each two-way contact must be in Arlington County, Virginia. Mobile and Portable stations should so identify.
EXCHANGE: Call sign, postal Zip Code location, signal report. Example: “This is Whiskey Four Alpha Victor Alpha, in zip code 22201, your signal is Golf Romeo, Good and Readable.”
Suggested signal report format:
• LOUD AND CLEAR
• GOOD AND READABLE
• FAIR BUT READABLE
• WEAK BUT READABLE
• WEAK AND UNREADABLE
Arlington Zip Codes are 22201 – 22207, and 22209, 22211, 22213, 22101, 20301.
LOGGING: Log the date and time of each contact in EDT, call sign of station contacted, the frequency in MHz, postal Zip Code location, and signal report.
RESULTS: Submit logs and comments by e-mail to Temas2@gmail.com. Comments can include a description of your radio equipment and antenna. All participants who submit a log will receive an e-mailed QSL-card type certificate. Data about simplex communication success will be shared with CERT, RACES, and others who are interested.
